Not all students learn in the same way. At Community, we do things differently. Our day is organized differently and the course work is presented in a different manner.

Our students take two classes a day--one in the morning for three hours and one in the afternoon for three hours.

No. Every 20-25 school days, the students switch to two new classes. Students can earn about six credits per school year.

Because we have only one social studies teacher, for example, students in that classroom will take global education, U.S. history, government, and economics at the same time. Therefore, there is no lecture. Each student works independently and individually with the teacher. Class size is limited to 15 students/class to allow ample time for the teacher to work with each student.

Our staff uses the same textbooks and curriculum as the other two high schools in Grand Forks.

Community High School is an accredited high school where a student earns a high school diploma. We even have our own graduation ceremony.
